Hello all, and thank you for reading. I have become interested in a vinyl cutter recently as I have been trying to glass etch. I already have a rather spacious blast cabinet (siphon system now, pressure pot later) and large compressor that we (by “we”, there are only 2 of us in the business venture, don’t go thinking “we” means 100’s  Smiley) use for rust / paint removal, and surface prep prior to powder coating. Sporadically over the last few months I have been trying to put various ideas on glass. The system I have has proven that it will at least make a surface etch. The lack of a durable stencil with clean lines has frustrated me.

While viewing YouTube, I came to understand that a vinyl cutter was the answer. After some research, US Cutter was identified as the least expensive way to go. As this all is more of a hobby than a real business right now, growing into a more expensive product seemed a good idea, and seems like that is what a lot of you are doing.

I have been looking at the MH series on eBay. I would rather buy from the website, and I would rather go with a Creation PCUT or a Copam, but this is all finances allow right now. After reading this forum the last couple days (and severely altering my sleep patterns) I realized that US Cutter has the best sales tool I have ever seen. YOU! I have great respect and admiration for anyone I have seen post on here (except for maybe the dude who tried to hijack Mader’s “better than who shot JR” thread. But he has been banned now  Smiley). Some names stand out to me, and I hope to get your advice, and eventually your respect as well.

I have never belonged to a thread, forum, blog, or anything like that in the past. With that said, I apologize in advance for any errors in etiquette I may make (including this lengthy intro). I haven’t ordered my cutter yet (still have to sell partner on it), but I really like the atmosphere here and wanted to say “Hello”. With all that said…

Hi! Umm… How’s it going? My name is Jason.

Hi Jason & Welcome.
I started with a pcut & have a Copam also, so either one that you decide to purchase will be a good choice.
And you have come to the right place for knowledge.  Thumbsup
I can't wait to see some of your glass etching work.  Wink

Welcome to the forum.

I think either the copam or Pcut will serve you well. With etching you don't want super fine details so these cutters should work great starting out and you can play around with window decals and stuff to make some money back also!

Welcome from West Virginia   if you are not sure about how long or how much you will be cutting start with the p-cut you can always move up later the p-cut is a good machine.
