Hi all,

I was at the pet expo in Wisconsin today and came across a group of people who are doing some special work.  The stories I heard today brought tears to my eyes and everyone else who was standing there listening to them.   They were selling t-shirts, decals, and everything else you can imagine to help get the word out about them.

The organization is called Save-a-vet.  The other forgotten soldier.
Saveavet.org

The only regret I have in my life is that I never served my country. This is my little way of giving back.  After I got home today my wife and I emailed them asking them if we could make them decals, and embroider some blankets to help them raise money.

One of their goals is to have a facility in each state. I am asking for a little help from all of the forum members.  Contact them and donate some decals or any other services you can offer.  It doesn't have to be much.

Take a few minutes and visit their website.  Saveavet.org.
Your donations will help a solider and their best friends.

I don't like to make posts like this but I feel this cause is worth it.  After all....the freedom's you have today are because of a veteran and the best co-worker anyone could ask for.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
If I offend anyone by this post I apologize in advance.
Thanks for your help!
George.

George,

Do you have a .eps of their window decals? If so I will gladly make some up and donate them! It would be cool if everyone on the forum could do 10+ decals and send them in. It would be cheap for us and well worth it for them!

I just signed up on their site and found the logo. I have vectorized it for anyone who would like to make up some decals to send to them. I will be sending a batch every so often when I have some spare time.

That is the spirit!  I would contact them and get permission from them to use the logo before you send anything.  Just to be on the safe side.  We spoke with the volunteer at the expo today and he requested that we do everything through their website or by calling them.  We registered on their website and sent in a email with what we would be willing to donate and what we needed in return to do that.  We asked for their logo and permission to use.

The last thing I want to see happen is someone get in trouble.

Thanks again for your help!
I will post what I hear back from them.
George

Dude, great post. I am vet and thank you for doing this. When you get the info please make sure to get it to me as well. I was very fortunate to not come back to this great country will any debilitating injuries. Many of the guys I served with were not so fortunate. So this gives me a way to give back to them. Thanks again.

Hi All,

Just got off the phone with Save-a-vet and they will take any donations you are willing to give.  I spoke with Dan the Ceo of save-a-vet.  His cell # is...815-349-9647.  He asked me to post his# and he would love to hear from you about any ideas or donations you would like to give.  He said their are no problems with us using his logo.  If you need it he can email it to you or you can copy it off his website or download it from here.

I just want to say THANKS AGAIN for everyone who is going to make a donation and to those who have served our country. Thumbsup Thumbsup Thumbsup

Thanks,
George

Thanks for the update. I will give him a call and advise him I am willing to do up some decals for them. I figure I'll crank out 20-30 of them for them.

I am glad to see that people are getting out there to help. I too am doing my part and didnt' see this post until after i had posted mine. my father was a retired sergeant from the army and he has since passed which one reason i am doing this. i am going through the corporate HFOT in Tauton Ma. They are going to send me some t-shirts for these events and hope to find someone to donate t-shirts to sell. The economy may be broken but our spirits are not. I would donate to this one but i am donating all i have to HFOT.

thank you everyone!
