The company I work for is supplying enclosed trailers for some of our products and we are having the companys logo installed on the trailers. The graphics we are purchasing is printed on the vinyl . Since I don't have a printer/cutter, I know I can basically create the same thing using single colors, the difference would be that its not one continous piece as what comes off the printer/cutter. I am going to create a sample and offer it as an option, what I'm not sure on, is one method better than the other? Does one hold up better than the other?
I figured up the cost of vinyl using Oracal 951, and its a fraction of the cost we are paying so I know I can beat their price and still make a profit. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It would be easier to guess this if you had a mockup of what the trailer is going to look like, but, nonetheless, if you say that it can be created using vinyl, then it shouldn't be a problem to either split the vinyl up by lines/elements or tile it, to fill the larger space with a smaller cutter.  You can always overlap it, but it's not the best or easiest option.
Cut vinyl is going to have a similar durability to laminated digital printed graphics, maybe better if you use 951.

If 951 is a fraction of what they are charging you, I would definitely go forward.  Take a photo, mock up the graphics on it and show it to them.
