just registered and want to figure out how to get this plotter working

I have a DING SC 631 E

I have turned it on and with the plotter I have ran a test and it does cut, (on the test option on the plotter controls)

I have it connected with the serial cable, (there are 2 ports on the plotter serial and parallel)

I read the pdf manual on the new bie starter part on this site

the software I used is sign blazer elements (in the pdf that is what they recommend)

I read the instructions on the pdf and set the com ports in the device manager and the program

the mother board I have on my computer only has one com port, I am running windows 7 ( could that be the problem??? i want to try on my other pc with windows xp but wanted to post this first)

SBE says "can not open the out put device. error initializing cutter."

I did buy this plotter on craigslist

serial cable looks good but is not new

I also tried winpcsign pro demo, they have the ding sc 630 plotter in the drop down box and i selected it and when i try to send it to plot the program (does not respond) and i have to close it

the manual i am reading is
http://www.customracingdecal.com/manuals/Noob-V4_5.pdf

check out the pics

let me Know what you guys think this is a good site and a lot of smart people

Thank you

If you would download the Signblazer elements with the full loaded cutters, I think you would have better luck,  it does have your cutter listed in it.   I would uninstall  the version you have and install the fully loaded version .. Your picture is showing you are using Refine

full cutter version is in this thread

I downloaded that file, uninstalled the last program and installed the updated one, i restarted the pc and ran the program,

when I click cut, then I will click cut tile, the next little window pops up and it will wait about 5 seconds, then the error initlizing cutter window pops up again

before the error would pop right up in less than a second

I think the next thing I might try is using the parallel

Thank you for the link to this program that has my plotter supported

If any one Knows any other things to get this working that would be greatly appreciated

thank you

have you tried a different software?    Signcut  has a copy that you can use for a 7 day trial.
