I am looking at buying the copam and am looking at what software for designing I should get.  I guess there is not many options for the mac.  If I do buy the adobe illustrator do you have to get photoshop with it or are you just able to use the illustrator on it's own.  Any help would be appreciated.

illustrator Has a very long history with Mac. It should work fine, but it does depend on your skill level. You can always export to EPS then inport to your cutting sw.
