I just got my MH 871 last week. Using SignBalazer on a USB port with XP. Works great, no problems. My question is, how do I set this cutter up to us as a pen plotter or a printer to use with my CAD program or other programs that I would like to print from?

Load the pen attachment, and plot in place of cutting. CAD files can be converted to .eps for plotting, and I think SignBlazer imports .dxf files as well.

you wont be able to print/cut from a cad program (ie. autocad)....but as ken said..you can export to dxf or eps and get the results you are looking for

Thanks. I have an older plotter (Houston Instruments) that I have the same problem with. The only way I was able to use it was to run it on a computer running Windows 98. The drivers just wouldn't load on XP.

I was finally able to get my cutter to work with my CAD program using the GraphTec CE1000-60 Driver. I downloaded it from http://www.graphteccorp.com/support/software/programs/ops628.htmSo far I haven't had to do any configuring. Just installed it and it worked.

I've started installing my inkscape and infranview, but when I started to install the SBE it said a warning about "can't be installed on 2 different computers" etc. If I install it on my computer and then find out my computer isn't powerful enough to run it with no problems, is there a way I can reinstall it? Does anyone know what requirements there are for the software to run easily? Thanks for the help. I'd like to play around with it before the machine gets here. Inkscape is Greek to me... I'm going to have to buy a manual for that one. I have some eps files from the forum, but I can't open them in inscape.I get a message that no preview is available. Then it doesn't open.Sandy
